EnviSense CO2 monitor and data logger - CO2 smart

With the EnviSense CO2 meter, you can always be sure of healthy indoor air. Besides CO2, the relative humidity (RH) and temperature is also measured. Including log function of all previously measured values and free digital dashboard. In this way, you are always aware of your indoor climate and you know when to ventilate.

The EnviSense CO2 meter is easy to use and by ventilating at the right time you prevent poor air quality in your living space. The CO2 meter displays carbon dioxide levels, temperature and humidity via a clear display and is therefore suitable for quick measurements at home or in the office as well as in schools or nurseries.

The data is easily accessible without WiFi, apps or any other complicated installation. The data is not stored anywhere else and can only be viewed by you.

Data logger

The EnviSense CO2 monitor is equipped with a data logger. All data is stored with it. This means that the history of CO2, temperature and humidity levels is stored.

In order to view the data easily, the EnviSense dashboard has been developed. To use the dashboard, the monitor has to be connected to the computer woth the supplied USB cable. All measured data is saved in a .csv file (the data can also be read using the excel file, if desired), which you can then upload into the dashboard. In this dashboard, it is possible to select the date range, and to choose between an hourly, daily or monthly view. The CO2 monitor can of course also be used without a digital dashboard. This is just a free addition that has been developed for your convenience.

What makes this dashboard unique is that you do not incur any subscription costs and do not need any apps or installation to use it.

With traffic light function

The CO2 meter is equipped with LCD display and 3 LEDs in the colours green, yellow and red. These are the indicators for the present carbon dioxide content. The CO2 content is measured in parts per million, the humidity in percent and the temperature in degrees Celsius. If the carbon dioxide content is too high, an alarm will go off, which you can set yourself and switch on or off. The graph on the display shows the progress of the carbon dioxide content, so you can see how the value has changed over the past minutes or hours. This can be set using the buttons on the unit.
Note: The buttons do not need to be pressed, the monitor already responds when you place your finger on the button!

Place the CO2 meter at table height in a place where it is not directly breathed into, at least 1.5 metres from an open window or door, or hang it on the wall. The device is suitable for a room up to ± 100 m2. When the sensor is switched on for the first time, it will need some time to calibrate itself properly. The carbon dioxide meter is self-calibrating and self-learning and will therefore become more accurate when switched on for a longer period of time.

The EnviSense CO2 meter operates continuously on electric power, therefore the monitor is not wireless. The device calibrates itself automatically and is provided with 3 colour codes. In order to achieve the highest accuracy the carbon dioxide meter works with a high quality NDIR sensor.

The monitor is supplied with a 1 metre cable including euro plug. Both are white in colour. EnviSense gives a 3 year warranty on the carbon dioxide monitor.

Tip: Press enter twice so that the backlight stays on permanently.

Monitor is clear and easy to understand. The generated log is useful. We are able to take it with us as we travel for business to access CO2 levels on the go.

IT would be improved by some sort of serial number being included in the spreadsheet, or on the devices in a clear way as we have 3, and it is not easy to tell them apart. We have manually labelled them now,

I have a Health and Safety responsibility across a number of sites and I needed a Co2 Monitor to help with the verification of our offices to help prove they were Covid safe. I needed a portable, mains operated device with data logging of over a day. I scoured many sites and the Envisense Co2 Monitor and logger was the best priced option without compromising quality and specification. I bought 4 units, 3 for work colleagues and one for my personal use.

I have tested the device at home and I am impressed with the sensitivity when I opened a can of coke and placed it by the monitor. The alarm bells rang (well bleeped). Very impressive. I am relieved they have offered a sound investment.

Easy to install and use device. Good display and monitoring. Would recommend.

This is a great CO2 (and RH/temp) monitor but a big drawback is it's not battery powered. It requires mains power or USB power constantly - as soon as it's disconnected it loses all of it's on-screen recorded data (data is still logged and can be downloaded via USB download but can't be viewed on the monitor).

I've no idea how accurate it is.

Ordering of the item was easy online, delivery was earlier than expected, which is a nice bonus.
The product itself is very good (Envisense) and monitors all aspects of the office environment air quality. The data logs are clear and easy to download and provide clear information.

The only gripe I have is they arrived with EU two pin plugs and it appears there isn't a USB cable with a UK three pin plug, so you have to buy two pin adapters. When I queried this, I was told that is correct. I mentioned there is no mention of requiring the adapter but the customer service representative told me there is a picture of the plug, which happens to be the last picture in the series online! Clever ploy it seems to me.

So all in all a great product. Ventilationland could do better to make people aware of the plug though. It's not a major issue but led to a delay in getting them installed and working, which caused additional cost and time to resolve.

I bought 2 monitors for our bowls club. They are supplied with shaver socket chargers for some reason so these needed replacing with standard USB chargers. The units were easy to install. One of the units gave a strange reading but technical support eventually sent me comprehensive instructions on how to recalibrate the unit and this worked. They are effective and are sensitive to changes in Co2 levels. Would have been 5 stars but for the charger issue.

A very useful, nifty device to have to hand in our office. Clear and easy to interpret.

I’ve been looking for CO2 monitors to recommend to a group of churches who are committed to providing a safe space for people to meet. I have bought 6 in this quest. Three either failed to give sensible readings or failed completely after a few uses. The EnviSense was one of three that have been reliable and provide sensible and consistent readings. The USB link to a computer or power adaptor woks well and transferring the CSV file to a spreadsheet is straightforward. As set up, the data logger provides an hourly log of CO2 level, humidity and temperature. This facility was not provided by the other two devices. So the EnviSense is an invaluable item for assessing the air in a space over an extended period of time. That really helps in designing a campaign of ventilation improvements.

Our community group, Cambridge Carbon Footprint, bought two CO2 Monitor & Dataloggers to help people investigate and arrange adequate (but not excessive) ventilation.
We like the datalogging function, eg: for checking hourly bedroom CO2 levels overnight. It's simple to use with PCs and Macs: when the monitor/logger is connected via USB, it appears as an external drive, containing a CSV file with the data.
The monitor seems well-made and is pretty easy to use. It also records temperature and % RH. Recommended!
Indoor CO2 levels are also an indicator of Covid transmission risk - another important use for it.

Very simple to use and seems reliable for monitoring natural vent effectiveness. Easy to configure alarm. Requires USB power at all times which is slight disadvantage and came with a 2 pin adaptor rather than a UK 3 pin plug, but works with any USB adaptor.

Ask a Question

What is the difference between repeatability and accuracy?

The accuracy of EnviSense is how close the readings are to the real value if we measure 1 time. The margin the EnviSense has is ±50 ppm or 5% (take the maximum). The readings of the EnviSense can be, for example, between 350 and 450 ppm CO2 if the real value is 400 ppm CO2.

The repeatability of the EnviSense includes the value it should give if we measure multiple times. The value of 2nd measurement should always be the same as the 1st , with a maximum of 5% deviation. So if we measure 1000ppm the first time, this should be between 950 and 1050 ppm CO2 the 2nd time.

In total EnviSense can deviate a maximum of 10% from the real value. However, this are extreme values and are highly unlikely to occur.

How does the automatic calibration of the EnviSense work?

The EnviSense has Automatic Baseline Correction (ABC). This means that the EnviSense itself calibrates to the correct values. When the device is switched on, it measures the lowest value over a given time interval. The lowest value will usually occur when there are no people present which results in an amount of CO2 in the air that is comparable to the outside air. For a period of 7 days, it adjusts the zero point (400 ppm) in the EnviSense to the lowest value measured each time. This is assumed to be 400 ppm CO2, which is a normal value for the outside air. This makes the device smarter and it will be able to indicate better when it is necessary to ventilate.

The EnviSense also remembers this value when the power is briefly interrupted. Therefore it is no problem to move the EnviSense indoors, for example.

Where should I place the EnviSense CO2 monitor?

The CO2 monitor measures the concentration where the sensor is placed.This concentration can vary in different areas of a room. We therefore recommend the following:

- Place the monitor at table height, not on the floor or wall;
- 1.5 - 2 metres from the wall or window;
- Area of up to 100 m2;
- Not in a place where you breathe in directly, such as directly in front of your face on a desk.

Can the backlight of the display stay on continuously?

Yes, the backlight can be activated by tapping one of the buttons. If you then tap 'enter' twice, the backlight will stay on permanently. By tapping 'enter' twice again, the backlight goes off again. The screen can also be read without backlighting.

How much data can the 'Envisense CO2 Monitor and Datalogger' store?

With the 'Envisense CO2 Monitor and Datalogger', the air quality in your home is displayed in a simple and clear way from the moment of setup. The data storage of the 'Envisense CO2 Monitor and Datalogger' is unlimited due to the large storage capacity of the product.

Important: Always make sure the correct date and time is set. The set date and time is stored in the data file.

Can I delete the data from my EnviSense monitor?

If you want to erase all data from your EnviSense monitor, just connect the monitor to your computer. Go to the file ‘EnviSense’, that will open automaticcaly also, and just delete the .csv file with the name ‘Datalog’. The EnviSense will create a new file when you use the monitor again.
