A flue gas box fan is a special type of box fan designed not only for ventilation but also suitable for exhausting hot air and toxic substances, such as smoke. In the event of a fire, a flue gas box fan is used for smoke and heat extraction (RWA), significantly reducing smoke damage. A flue gas box fan is standard heat-resistant up to continuous temperatures of 200 degrees. It is also suitable for use with a wood stove or pellet stove. In this case, the flue gas box fan provides a continuous airflow to the wood stove, ensuring better air supply to your wood stove. This results in cleaner combustion and prevents smoke from re-entering the living room.
A flue gas box fan is designed to withstand extreme air temperatures. The flue gas box fan can handle continuous temperatures of 200 degrees. In the event of a fire, this fan is used to expel smoke and heat from the room to the outside. This keeps the area accessible for a longer time and minimizes smoke damage. The flue gas box fan complies with the F400 fire safety standard, meaning it can withstand a temperature of 400 degrees for a period of 2 hours.
The required capacity of your flue gas box fan depends on the dimensions of your space and the total amount of smoke that needs to be expelled.
