Recent research has examined the relationship between CO2 and the spread of COVID-19 in classrooms and offices. Scientists have developed a new model to predict the risk of infection with corona. They have done this based on the amount of CO2 present there. This model highlights the importance of proper ventilation in workplaces and schools. The model was developed by researchers from Imperial College London, the University of Cambridge and the University of Leeds.

Aeros Pro Particulate Matter (PM), Humidity and CO2 sensor
The Aeros Pro sensor is an advanced CO2 meter that accurately measures air quality. When you use a CO2 meter, you will be warned when it is time to ventilate because the air quality in your home is no longer optimal. If you don't do this, you run the risk of various health complaints, such as headaches, dullness and respiratory complaints. Measuring air quality is also very important in the battle against the coronavirus.
Why measure carbon dioxide in the fight against COVID-19?
A recent study has shown that when a room is well ventilated, there is a smaller chance for colleagues, classmates or housemates to infect each other. Because the occupancy of a space often changes (think of a meeting room in an office or a visit to your home), it is important to have insight into the extent to which ventilation is adequate. When using a CO2 meter, you can always make sure to create a healthy indoor climate. What makes the Aeros Pro sensor so special is the degree to which it measures particulate matter. 0.3 PM are among the smallest particles in the air, also known as aerosols, to which other particles (such as viruses and other particulate matter) can attach themselves and thus spread. This is also a way in which corona is transmitted. The lower the aerosol content, the less chance harmful substances and viruses (such as corona) have of spreading and infecting others.Easy insight to climate inside!
This air quality meter measures the indoor climate every second on 5 parameters:- Carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Temperature
- Relative humidity
- TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds)
- Fine dust and aerosols (0.3 PM t/m 10 PM)
The sensor also has an accompanying app that can be easily linked to the Aeros through a QR code, which provides access to a dashboard that gives insight into the air quality in the home, office or school 24/7. To make the air quality easily noticable when you are in the room, the Aeros is equipped with a traffic light function that indicates when a limit value has been exceeded by showing different colored lights. The sensor also starts up in 1 second, measures all parameters every second and has an expected life span of 10 years.
