The flange profile Seal SB20 (1 metre) from Econox is specifically designed for use as part of a cross-connection in rectangular air ducts. Installation

The flange profile is attached directly to the air duct using spot welds, point welding, self-tapping screws (parkers), or blind rivets. The cross-connections are joined by means of screw clamps or overlap strips, maintaining a maximum centre-to-centre distance of 500 mm. Corners are fastened with galvanized bolts and nuts, for example, an M8x25 mm tap bolt combined with an M8 hex nut, ensuring a firm and durable connection. For a complete cross-connection, SB20 flange corners are required, and to improve airtightness between cross-connections, duct sealing tape can be applied.

Applications and Use

The SB20 flange profile is generally used for duct sizes up to 999 mm. For widths or heights larger than 999 mm, it is recommended to switch to the SB30 flange profile, which is suitable for heavier and larger duct dimensions. The flange profile is suitable for ventilation systems, air handling units, and HVAC installations.
