The Maxivent by Econox reversible DX coil is an optional accessory for expanding the M4004 air handling unit, right-hand configuration. Constructed from a galvanised steel frame, aluminium fins, copper tubes and collectors, the DX coil—with a capacity of 2.21 kW for heating and 2.01 kW for cooling—ensures excellent thermal conductivity and a corrosion-resistant casing.

A refrigerant (e.g. R410A or R32) circulates through the copper tubes of the heat exchanger, exchanging heat with the airflow inside the air handling unit through evaporation or condensation. The main difference and advantage compared to a hot or cold water coil is that the reversible DX coil can both cool and heat, operating directly with the refrigerant. No intermediate medium (such as water or glycol) is required for heat transfer, which keeps the installation compact and reduces heat losses.

The reversible DX coil module is mounted on the side of the M4004 air handling unit.
