The Maxivent automatic switching water coil is an optional accessory designed to extend the M4020 air handling unit. Constructed from a galvanized steel frame, aluminium fins, copper tubes, and headers, the automatic switching coil delivers excellent thermal conductivity with a capacity of 32.90 kW for heating and 11.64 kW for cooling.

Water or a glycol mixture circulates through the copper tubes of the heat exchanger, absorbing or releasing heat to the airflow within the air handling unit. The heat exchanger is supplied by an external source such as a boiler, chiller, or heat pump, which provides the coil with hot or chilled water. The key difference and advantage over a standard hot or chilled water coil is that the automatic switching coil can both cool and heat. Switching between functions is easily managed via a control valve.

The automatic switching water coil is mounted on the side of the M4020 air handling unit.
