The Belimo LF24 is a rotary damper actuator with spring return designed for open/close control of air damper sections up to approx. 0.8 m² in technical building installations. The actuator operates on an open/close signal: when power supply is present, it moves to the operating position and tensions the internal return springs. In case of power failure, the damper automatically and independently returns to the safe position, powered by the spring energy. This makes the actuator suitable for applications where a predefined safety position is required, such as fire and smoke dampers or emergency ventilation dampers. The motor achieves a rotation angle of 90° in 75 seconds and the spring return brings the damper back in less than 20 seconds. The standby power consumption is 2.5 W and the motor’s noise level is 50 dB(A). With a torque of 4 Nm, it is suitable for smaller damper assemblies in commercial and residential installations.
The actuator mounts directly onto the damper shaft with the supplied universal clamp ring, suitable for shaft diameters from 8 to 16 mm. The shaft must be at least 84 mm long with a minimum 20 mm projection. An included rotational lock prevents the actuator from turning with the shaft. The direction of movement for both the motor and spring return is set via the mounting orientation (L/R). The angle of rotation is mechanically adjustable from 37% to a maximum of 95°. The LF24 does not have manual override. Electrical connection is via a fixed 1-metre cable with two conductors of 0.75 mm². The actuator is maintenance-free and suitable for open/close control of smaller air damper sections in ventilation units, fan coil units, air handling units, and emergency ventilation dampers in commercial and residential building systems.
