The Belimo LF230 is a rotary valve actuator with spring return designed for open/close control of air damper sections up to approximately 0.8 m² in technical building installations. The actuator operates on an open/close signal: when power is present, it moves to the working position, tensioning the internal return springs. In the event of a power failure, the valve automatically and independently returns to the safe position, driven by the spring force. This makes the valve actuator suitable for applications requiring a predefined safety position, such as fire or emergency ventilation dampers. The motor achieves a 90° rotation angle in 75 seconds, and the spring return brings the valve back in less than 20 seconds. The standby power consumption is 2 W, and the motor noise level is 50 dB(A). With a torque of 4 Nm, it is suitable for smaller damper constructions in commercial and residential HVAC installations.
The actuator is mounted directly onto the valve shaft using the supplied universal clamp, suitable for shaft diameters from 8 to 16 mm. The shaft must be at least 84 mm long and protrude by at least 20 mm. A supplied anti-rotation device prevents the actuator from turning along with the shaft. The movement direction of both motor and spring return is set by the mounting orientation (L/R). The angle of rotation is mechanically adjustable from 37% to a maximum of 95%. The valve actuator does not have manual override. Electrical connection is via a fixed 1-meter cable with two cores of 0.75 mm², connected directly to the mains supply. The actuator is maintenance-free and suitable for open/close control of smaller air damper sections in ventilation units, fan coil units, air handling units, and emergency ventilation dampers in commercial and residential HVAC installations.
