The Belimo SF24A-S2 is a rotary damper actuator with spring return designed for open/close control of air damper sections up to approximately 4 m² in technical building installations. The actuator operates on an open/close signal: when powered, it moves to the operating position, tensioning the internal return springs. In the event of power failure, the damper automatically and independently returns to the safe position, driven by the spring energy. This makes the actuator suitable for applications where a predetermined safety position is required, such as fire and smoke or emergency ventilation dampers in central air handling units. The motor achieves a 90° rotation angle in 75 seconds, with the spring return bringing the damper back in under 20 seconds. Standby power consumption is 2.5 W and the motor noise level is 45 dB(A). With a torque of 20 Nm and two integrated auxiliary switches for position feedback, it is suitable for large, heavy damper constructions in commercial and industrial climate control systems.
The actuator is mounted directly onto the damper shaft using the supplied universal clamp ring, suitable for shaft diameters from 10 to 25.4 mm. The shaft must be at least 85 mm long and protrude a minimum of 15 mm. The actuator comes with a locking device to prevent unwanted rotation. The direction of movement for both the motor and the safety function is determined by the installation position (L or R). The electrical connection consists of a 1-metre power cable with 2 cores and a separate 1-metre cable with 6 cores for the auxiliary switches. The damper actuator is maintenance-free and suitable for open/close control of large air damper sections in central air handling units, mixing dampers, and emergency ventilation dampers in commercial buildings and industrial climate systems.
