The Belimo NF24A is a rotary damper actuator with spring return for open/close control of air damper sections up to approx. 2 m² in technical building systems. The actuator operates on an open/close signal: when powered, it moves to the working position and tensions the internal return springs. In the event of a power failure, the damper automatically and independently returns to the safe position, driven by the spring energy. This makes the actuator suitable for applications requiring a predefined safety position, such as fire and smoke dampers or emergency ventilation dampers in central air handling units. The motor achieves a 90° rotation angle in 75 seconds, and the spring return moves the damper back in less than 20 seconds. Standby power consumption is 2.5 W and the motor noise level is 45 dB(A). With a torque of 10 Nm, it is suitable for medium-sized damper constructions in commercial and industrial HVAC installations.
The actuator mounts directly onto the damper shaft using the supplied universal clamp ring, suitable for shaft diameters from 10 to 25.4 mm. The shaft must be at least 85 mm long and extend a minimum of 15 mm. An included anti-rotation device prevents actuator movement along the shaft. The direction of movement for both motor and spring return is set via mounting orientation (L/R). The rotation angle is mechanically adjustable from 33% in increments of 2.5% up to a maximum of 95°. For manual operation, a hand crank is provided to lock the damper in any position. Electrical connection is via a fixed 1-metre cable with two 0.75 mm² conductors. The actuator is maintenance-free and ideal for open/close control of medium-sized air damper sections in central air handling units, fire dampers, emergency ventilation dampers, and mixing dampers in commercial and industrial HVAC installations.
