The Belimo NF24A-S2 is a rotary damper actuator with spring return designed for open/close control of air damper sections up to approximately 2 m² in technical building installations. The actuator operates based on an open/close signal: when power is supplied, it moves to the operating position and tensions the internal return springs. In the event of a power failure, the damper automatically and independently returns to the safe position, driven by the spring energy. This makes the actuator suitable for applications requiring a predefined safety position, such as fire and smoke dampers or emergency ventilation dampers in central air handling units. The motor achieves a 90° rotation within 75 seconds, and the spring return closes the damper in less than 20 seconds. The standby power consumption is 2.5 W and the motor noise level is 45 dB(A). With a torque of 10 Nm and two integrated auxiliary switches for position feedback, it is ideal for medium-sized damper assemblies in commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
The actuator mounts directly onto the damper shaft using the supplied universal clamp ring, suitable for shaft diameters from 10 to 25.4 mm. The shaft must be at least 85 mm long and extend at least 15 mm. An included anti-rotation bracket prevents the actuator from rotating with the shaft. The rotation direction of both motor and spring return is set by the mounting orientation (L/R). The rotation angle is mechanically adjustable from 33% in 2.5% increments up to a maximum of 95%. For manual operation, a hand crank is provided allowing the damper to be locked in any position. Electrical connection is made via a 1-metre power cable with two wires of 0.75 mm² and a separate 1-metre cable with six wires for the auxiliary switches. The actuator is maintenance-free and designed for open/close control of medium-sized air damper sections in central air handling units, fire dampers, emergency ventilation dampers, and mixing dampers in commercial buildings and industrial HVAC installations.
