The Belimo SM24A-SR-TP is a modulating actuator designed for continuous positioning of large damper sections up to approximately 4 m². The actuator is controlled via a 2-10 V signal and also provides a position feedback (SR) of 2-10 V back to the controller or cascade control system. Based on an external measurement signal, for example from a sensor monitoring a relevant parameter such as temperature, pressure, or air quality, a control signal is generated that instructs the Belimo motor to adjust the damper position. The actuator offers a torque of 20 Nm, making it suitable for large, heavy damper constructions in central air handling units. The position accuracy is ±5% over the full control range, and the motor achieves a 90° rotation within 150 seconds. The standby power consumption is only 0.4 W, and the noise level is 45 dB(A).
The actuator mounts directly onto the damper shaft using the included universal clamp ring, suitable for shaft diameters from 10 to 20 mm. The shaft must be at least 48 mm long and extend at least 20 mm. The actuator includes an anti-rotation device to prevent unwanted rotation. The angle of rotation is adjustable via mechanical stops on both sides, with a maximum of 95°. The direction of rotation is easily set via a switch (position 0 = counterclockwise, position 1 = clockwise). For manual adjustment, there is a pushbutton that can be locked. Electrical connection is made via terminal blocks, suitable for cables up to 4 mm² and cable diameters of 4 to 10 mm, 4-core. The actuator is maintenance-free and suitable for modulating positioning of large damper sections in central air handling units, VAV main ducts, mixing dampers, and flow controllers in large commercial buildings and industrial HVAC installations.
