The Belimo SM24A-SR is a modulating damper actuator designed for continuous positioning of large air damper sections up to approximately 4 m². The actuator is controlled by a 2-10 V signal and also provides a 2-10 V position feedback (SR) signal back to the controller or cascade control system. Based on an external measuring signal, for example from a sensor monitoring a relevant parameter such as temperature, pressure, or air quality, a control signal is generated to instruct the Belimo motor to adjust the damper position. The damper actuator delivers a torque of 20 Nm, making it suitable for large, heavy-duty damper constructions in central air handling units. The position accuracy is ±5% over the entire control range, and the motor achieves a 90° rotation within 150 seconds. Power consumption at rest is only 0.4 W, and the noise level is 45 dB(A).
The damper actuator is mounted directly onto the damper shaft using the supplied universal clamp ring, suitable for shaft diameters from 10 to 20 mm. The shaft must be at least 48 mm long with a minimum 20 mm protrusion. The actuator includes a fixing device to prevent unwanted rotation with the shaft. The rotation angle is adjustable via mechanical end stops on both sides, with a maximum of 95°. The direction of movement is easily set using a switch (position 0 = counterclockwise, position 1 = clockwise). For manual adjustment, a lockable push button is provided. Electrical connection is made via a fixed 1 metre cable with 4 conductors (0.75 mm²). The damper actuator is maintenance-free and suitable for modulating positioning of large air damper sections in central air handling units, VAV main ducts, mixing dampers, and flow regulators in large commercial buildings and industrial HVAC installations.
