Spiro-SAFE Sound Attenuator Diameter 200 mm - Length 600 mm (50 mm Insulation)

The Spiro-SAFE sound attenuator diameter 200 mm - length 600 mm (50 mm insulation) is a round sound attenuator made from galvanized steel, available in various diameters and lengths, designed for use in ventilation and air handling systems to reduce sound transmission through air ducts. The attenuator is developed to effectively dampen noise from fans and airflow, ensuring a comfortable noise level in occupied spaces. It can be directly integrated into ventilation ducts and is suitable for both residential and commercial buildings.

Practical Information

The sound absorption of the Spiro-SAFE sound attenuator diameter 200 mm - length 600 mm (50 mm insulation) is achieved by mineral wool located between the inner and outer shells. Depending on the variant, the wool thickness is either 50 mm or 100 mm. The mineral wool complies with fire class A1 according to EN 13162, meaning the material is completely non-combustible.

The outer casing is manufactured from high-quality galvanized steel to guarantee durability and reliability, resulting in a robust and corrosion-resistant finish. The design of the standard attenuators is sturdy and functional. The walls are firmly formed and resistant to mechanical stress during installation and use. This ensures a long service life, excellent sound reduction performance, and reliable operation across a range of ventilation projects.

Thanks to its circular shape and smooth interior, the sound attenuator causes minimal pressure loss within the ventilation system. This is important to prevent additional load on fans or increased energy consumption. The attenuator can be applied in both supply and exhaust air ducts.

Why is the Premium Version Better than the Standard Version?

The premium sound attenuator offers several advantages over the standard model that make it better suited for certain applications:

  1. Wool Thickness: The premium attenuator uses 100mm thick mineral wool cut from rolls. This allows the insulation to better conform to the internal shape of the attenuator and ensures more uniform sound attenuation.
  2. Central Core: From diameter 315 mm onwards, premium attenuators feature a central core. This core ensures that air flows through a perforated inner tube, increasing contact between sound waves and the absorption layer. This design particularly improves attenuation of mid and high frequencies.
  3. More Uniform Sound Reduction: The combination of flexible insulation, precise fitting, and thoughtful construction results in the premium variant providing a more consistent sound reduction across a broad frequency range. The standard version’s sound attenuation may be somewhat less uniform, especially at lower frequencies.

How can I reduce the noise of my ventilation system?
How can I reduce the noise of my ventilation system?
It is important to know where noise in your ventilation system is coming from, before you can reduce it. A ventilation system causes air to be moved and in doing so, vibrations are released. To do this, a mechanical ventilation system is equipped with a motor that also creates vibrations. Many of these vibrations produce noise and thus annoyance. The noise level can vary from one ventilation system to another.
