2. Center core: From diameter 315 onwards, premium attenuators are equipped with a central core. The center core causes the air to flow through a perforated inner tube, increasing the contact of sound waves with the absorptive layer. This effectively dampens especially mid and high frequencies.
3. More uniform sound reduction: The combination of flexible insulation, good sealing, and thoughtful construction enables the premium variant to provide more consistent sound attenuation over a wide frequency range. The standard variant may exhibit slightly less uniform sound reduction, particularly at lower frequencies.
