Spiro-SAFE premium silencer diameter 160 mm - length 900 mm (100 mm insulation)

The Spiro-SAFE premium silencer diameter 160 mm - length 900 mm (100 mm insulation) is a round ventilation silencer made of galvanized steel, specifically designed for use in ventilation and air handling ducts. This silencer is engineered to effectively reduce noise generated by airflow and mechanical fans, ensuring that sound levels in occupied spaces and technical rooms remain within acceptable limits. The silencer connections on both ends feature a male connection (spigot) with an integrated double EPDM lip seal, providing an airtight and reliable connection to round ventilation ducts.

Practical information

Sound absorption is achieved through glass wool, located between the inner and outer shells of the silencer. Depending on the model, the wool thickness is 50 mm or 100 mm for the PREMIUM-100. The mineral wool is flexible and cut from roll material, allowing it to conform well to the shape of the silencer and ensuring uniform noise reduction along the entire length of the product. This guarantees consistent attenuation, even with variable airflows and smaller duct dimensions.

The outer casing is made from high-quality galvanized steel to ensure durability and reliability, providing a robust and corrosion-resistant finish.

The construction is sturdy and functional, with a solid outer shell resistant to mechanical stress during installation and use. The product code clearly indicates the type of silencer, insulation thickness, duct diameter (Ød1), and silencer length, making it easy to select the appropriate silencer for any ventilation project, from residential to complex commercial applications.

Why is the premium variant better than the standard variant?

Compared to the standard silencer, the premium silencer offers several advantages that make it more suitable for certain applications:

  1. Wool thickness: The premium silencer uses 100 mm thick mineral wool cut from roll material. This allows the insulation to better conform to the internal shape of the silencer, providing more uniform noise attenuation.
  2. Central core: From diameter 315 onwards, the premium silencers feature a central core. This core directs air through a perforated inner tube, increasing the interaction of sound waves with the absorptive layer. This results in more effective attenuation of mid and high frequencies.
  3. More uniform noise reduction: The combination of flexible insulation, secure connections, and thoughtful construction ensures that the premium variant delivers a more consistent noise reduction across a wide frequency range. The standard variant may exhibit less uniform attenuation, especially at lower frequencies.

How can I reduce the noise of my ventilation system?
How can I reduce the noise of my ventilation system?
It is important to know where noise in your ventilation system is coming from, before you can reduce it. A ventilation system causes air to be moved and in doing so, vibrations are released. To do this, a mechanical ventilation system is equipped with a motor that also creates vibrations. Many of these vibrations produce noise and thus annoyance. The noise level can vary from one ventilation system to another.
