The Spiro-SAFE premium sound attenuator diameter 150 mm - length 600 mm (100 mm insulation) is a round ventilation sound attenuator made of galvanized steel, specifically designed for use in ventilation and air handling ducts. This attenuator is engineered to effectively reduce noise generated by airflow and mechanical fans, ensuring that sound levels in living spaces and technical rooms remain within acceptable limits.
The connections on both sides of the sound attenuator feature a male spigot end with an integrated double EPDM lip seal, providing an airtight and reliable connection to round ventilation ducts.

Practical Information

Sound absorption is achieved through glass wool positioned between the inner and outer casing of the attenuator. Depending on the version, the wool thickness is 50 mm or 100 mm for the PREMIUM-100. The mineral wool is flexible and cut from roll material, enabling it to conform well to the shape of the attenuator and guarantee uniform sound attenuation along the entire length of the product. Why is the premium variant better than the standard variant?

The premium sound attenuator offers several advantages over the standard model that make it better suited for certain applications:

1. Wool Thickness: The premium attenuator uses 100 mm thick mineral wool cut from roll material. This allows the insulation to better conform to the inner shape of the attenuator, providing more uniform sound attenuation.
2. Centre Core: From diameter 315 onwards, the premium attenuators feature a centre core. The core directs airflow through a perforated inner tube, increasing contact between sound waves and the absorption layer. This results in more effective attenuation of mid and high frequencies.
3. More Uniform Sound Reduction: The combination of flexible insulation, secure connections, and thoughtful construction enables the premium variant to deliver a more consistent sound reduction across a broad frequency range. The standard variant’s attenuation can be less uniform, especially at lower frequencies.
