Since August 2018, MVHR filters have been classified according to the ISO16890 standard, which has replaced the old EN779 standards. This standard provides better insight into the performance of a filter by using the following specifications:

• ISO Coarse: Percentage of coarse dust that is retained.
• ISO ePM1: Percentage of fine particulate matter smaller than 1 µm that is filtered.
• ISO ePM2.5: Percentage of fine particulate matter smaller than 2.5 µm that is retained by the filter.
• ISO ePM10: Percentage of fine particulate matter smaller than 10 µm that is retained.
