To ensure sufficient fresh air in the gym, continuous mechanical ventilation is necessary. Mechanical ventilation is carried out using a ventilation system or a heat exchanger. Where necessary, natural ventilation via open windows and doors or using grilles can provide air supply and extraction.

With a CO2 monitor you can get an insight into the air quality in sports areas and act accordingly. Research shows that ventilation alone is not sufficient to remove aerosols from the air in areas where intensive sport is practiced. An air cleaner in combination with good ventilation can reduce up to 85% of the aerosols in the gym.
Ventilation requirements fitness center or sports hall
Sports facilities must comply with the ventilation requirements of 60 m³/h fresh air per athlete and 20 m³/h fresh air per spectator. The size of a room also plays a role in this. For large sports halls and gymnasiums, a fresh air supply of 1 to 2 times the volume of the hall per hour is required.
Ventilating dressing rooms
Unpleasant odors can hang around in locker rooms of sports facilities and the CO2 value can quickly rise. The guidelines for optimum ventilation are to ventilate 3 to 6 times the volume of the room per hour. In addition to good ventilation, an air cleaner with a carbon filter can also ensure that unpleasant odors are filtered from the air.
